I had no prior information about a walk through the Loras Geopark except that it began and ended in the village of Rebolledo de la Torre. From the name I anticipated the remains of a tower but was not expecting the 12th century romanesque church with it's beautiful portico.
Lo único que sabía de la ruta por el Geoparque de las Loras era que comenzaba en el pueblo de Rebolledo de la Torre. Las ruinas de una torre podrían haberse esperado, pero una iglesia románica con preciosa galería porticada del siglo XII, no.

In front of the tower is a brick drying-house for cereals

After admiring the church for a while, we began the walk, passing the fields recently planted with cereals. The green crops were to be a feature of the trail, contrasting with the ochre colours of the surrounding sandstone and limestone landscape
Después de admirar la iglesia un buen rato comenzamos la ruta, pasando cerca de campos recién sembrados de cereales. El contraste del verde con el color ocre de la arenisca y la roca caliza de la zona me llamaba la atención

After the spectacular walk up past the strata to the base of the plateau, the track alongside it was a little monotonous, but when the leaves come out on the trees it'll be more interesting
Subimos por los estratos hasta la base de la meseta. El camino a continuación resultaba un poco monótono, pero cuando las hojas crezcan será más interesante

We found a suitable place to walk up to the plateau and the views improved. From the higher end, with the trail we followed to get here in the valley to the left. On the horizon, the plains of Castile.
