Esta salida a Los Collados del Asón no salió como habíamos pensado, pero disfrutamos de un día bonito de otoño.
En lugar de ir como otras veces por la pista que va hacía Horneo buscamos un sendero que sube a la izquierda de la pista
This excursion didn't turn out as we'd planned, but we enjoyed a lovely autumn day.
Instead of following the track from the Collados del Asón to Horneo as we've done on previous vists to the area, we took a path that heads up to the left of the track
On the other side of the valley are mountains that appear on other pages in this blog

The first part of the walk took us past the right-hand side of cliffs called the Bell Towers or Steeples, the second behind them to the left
El sendero nos llevó a un bosque, debatiendo entre el verano y el otoño
The path went through a wood that was transitioning between summer and autumn
Seguimos por el sendero por si nos acercaba al lugar donde comienza la subida a los Campanarios, pero pasaba por delante y decidimos seguirlo a ver hasta donde nos llevaba

We continued along the path to see if it would bring us nearer to the gulley that you can scramble up to get to the top of the cliffs, but it carried on straight ahead and we decided to explore it further
Donde el sendero empieza a bajar a los Collados conectamos con otro que sube hacia Hondojón. Este tiene postes, aunque no son necesarios para seguir el camino.

El sendero se murió; seguimos unos hitos pero cuando el terreno se complicaba dimos la vuelta
The path came to an end, though we followed a few cairns till the going got a bit trickier and we retraced our steps
Where the path starts to descend towards the Collados we switched to another one that goes up to Hondojón. It's signposted, but the route is obvious.
Paramos a almorzar al otro lado de los Campanarios
We stopped to have a bite to eat on the other side of the cliffs

Volvimos por el mismo camino. Dejaremos la subida a los Campanarios para otro día
We returned the way we'd come. We'll leave the Bell Towers for another day
