The line I've drawn on this snap taken from the "castillo" [see Peña Cortés (1)] shows the way up to the top I took on my second attempt in summer 2009.
La línea trazada en esta foto sacada desde el "castillo" [ver Peña Cortés (1)] muestra por donde subí cuando reintenté llegar a la cima en el verano de 2009.

This is taken at the start of the Canal de las Grajas, just where the line turns to the left on the previous photo, and just below where I had to turn back last time. Good weather, so I only had to contend with the ever-steeper incline, keeping to the right side of the gulley where possible
El comienzo de la Canal de las Grajas, justo donde la línea gira hacia la izq. en la foto anterior, y un poco por debajo del punto donde di marcha atrás la última vez. Hoy había buen tiempo, así que lo unico que tenía que hacer era ganar la cuesta cada vez más pindia, buscando la parte dcha. de la canal para poder evitar la pedrera en lo posible


When I got to the top of the ridge, a look back showed Aliva down below with the "castillo" just visible, and Peña Vieja right opposite.
Al final de la subida una mirada hacia atrás: se puede distinguir el "castillo", con Peña Vieja enfrente dominando Aliva.



Next comes a relatively gentle walk up the slope of Prau Cortés
Sólo queda subir hasta la cima del Prau Cortés - bastante más suave que lo de antes
