La última salida del invierno / Last walk of winter

Creo que nunca he hecho tantas salidas a la montaña en invierno como este año. El tiempo seco ha sido fundamental, claro, y a pesar de las temperaturas altas, sigue habiendo bastante nieve en las alturas. El día que fuimos a la zona de Pico Boru en agosto encontramos mucha niebla, pero cuando volvimos el sábado pasado disfrutamos de un tiempo estupendo. 

The dry weather has made for lots of opportunities for hiking this winter. Despite the high temperatures there's still lots of snow on high ground. Back in August we had to contend with the fog when we went to Pico Boru but this time round it was a glorious day. 

Después de dejar la pista que sube al Casetón de Ándara y subir un rato por el sendero llegamos a los Llanos de Braniella. Delante se veía claramente Pico Boru (der). Dejamos el sendero y vamos a la izquierda, pasando al lado de una lápida en recuerdo de los que murieron en un accidente de helicóptero en el año 82, marcado con dos hitos grandes al pie del Deboru*(izq), al que subimos rápidamente.

We took the same route up but were able to enjoy the views of Boru (right) well before getting there.We leave the path and go up to the left to Deboru*(left).

Desde allí la vista hacia el sur abarca la Rasa del Inagotable (izq) y Pico Soriano (der)
From there looking south - the peak on the right is the last one I ascended that day in August before the fog enveloped everything.

Ahora vamos en dirección al Cueto Tejao (centro) - de momento la nieve permite el progreso
We now head towards Tejao (centro) - for a while progress is easy 

Luego los que no llevamos crampones tenemos que buscar la zona más rocosa para avanzar. Desde un alto vemos la cima que podremos alcanzar, delante de Cueto Tejao
Later the snow becomes hard, and those of us that don't have crampons have to avoid it and use the rocky terrain to make headway. From a vantage point we see a summit in front of us, below Tejao, we can get to

On the way down I take a look back and witness what appears to be a race in the shies

We take care to avoid the snow patches

Un poco más abajo ya se puede pisar sin problemas
Lower down though we are able to tread without fear of slipping

*Debido a la confusión que existe entre los nombres de Pico Boru y Cuetu Tejao, tengo mis dudas sobre el nombre Deboru, que parece referirse en algunos mapas a la zona cerca del pico, pero lo he usado aquí ya que no aparece ningún otro en los mapas que he visto para señalar esta cota (1,895m).
*There is some confusion regarding the name Deboru, but I've used it here to refer to the elevation at 1.895 mts, to the NE of Pico Boru.
