Joyancón

 Con ganas de hacer una ruta más antes del cambio anunciado en el tiempo me acerqué a los Llares para subir hacia el Joyancón. Cruzando el puente al final del pueblo, se sigue la pista que pasa al lado de una zona recreativa y asciende suavemente antes de bajar...

Después de una hora de caminar, la pista se acaba y se puede subir a la izquierda por un camino muy pedregoso y pindio. Hay una indicación al Joyancón cerca del principio de la subida.
After about an hour the track ends and I continued up a steep, stony incline to the left.

El camino va entre robles, y al final acebos, y hay que seguir unas rodadas hasta salir del bosque.
You make your way up through the wood, and when it flattens out a bit the oaks give way briefly to holly bushes before the final ascent to the left following ruts that lead you out of the woods. 

Esta zona es el Joyancón y la foto del lugar me ayudó a encontrar el camino cuando bajé.
This is the Joyancón, and the photo helped me find my way when I came down later on.

A partir de ahí se trata de subir entre la aulaga. Donde se hace incómodo nos giramos hacia la derecha por una senda. Estos caballos se acercaron mientras parábamos un rato durante la subida.
Thereafter it's a case of heading straight up following paths through the gorse. Where it got too thick we followed the path round to the right. When we stopped for a moment these horses came by to say hello.

Ese lugar visto desde arriba. Mientras Monty y yo hacíamos nuestro camino estaban los pastores juntando el ganado y bajándolo a cotas inferiores en previsión del tiempo invernal.
Looking back at the same spot. While Monty and I enjoyed our walk, local farmers were shepherding the cattle together so as to lead them down through the woods to lower ground in view of the weather forecast for the following days.

Nor these. Obios is behind to the left. Carmen and I walked up that track 20 years ago, give or take a couple of months, when we came to live in Cantabria, and walked from Bárcena de Pie de Concha to Potes in 4 days.

Continué un rato por la cresta dirección Navajos hasta bajar en dirección al Joyancón
Today my companion was Monty, and we walked along the ridge towards Navajos before heading down again to Joyancón

Tardé  un poco en darme cuenta de que me había metido demasiado a la derecha, pero por fin encontré el hito que me había dejado y conecté de nuevo con el camino. 

This is when I lost my way, before it struck me that I'd gone too far to the right. Changing direction I was happy to find my cairn and enter the woods at the right place.

Mi idea al bajar por el mismo sentido era explorar un camino que había visto cerca del río con una flecha que indicaba "Cuchisecos"- el nombre me llamaba la atención - pero cuando me di cuenta de que había pasado de largo, decidí dejarlo para otro día y seguí hasta los Llares y luego a casa.
My idea on going back the same way had been partly to explore another part of the woods, but by the time I realised I'd missed the fork in the path, I 'd gone far enough to decide to leave it for another day and carry on to the village and head home.
