El interés en hacer una ruta algo distinta a una que hice años atrás al mismo macizo me animaba a volver a la Sierra de Alcomba. Aunque nos acompañaba un fuerte viento durante casi toda la marcha, no afectó la marcha sobremanera, salvo en ¡el añadido acústico!
Al principio de la ruta, después de pasar por el tendido eléctrico, que el viento hacía rugir como advertencia a lo que encontraríamos a partir de ese punto, subimos a la calma relativa donde me llamaba la atención una iglesia debajo de nosotros: San Bartolomé de los Montes, que por lo visto se empezó a cnstruir en el siglo XIII; El Buciero y la bahía de Santoña al fondo.
I hadn't been back to this small massif for many years, but the discovery of a walk that differed substantially from the one I remembered immediately appealed. Even though we had to put up with a strong wind throughout, it didn't affect us too much - apart from the noise levels!
Right at the start as we went underneath some power lines, the wind created a roar that seemed to warn against proceeding further, but we walked up to a calmer spot, where I was surprised to see a church just below us: San Bartolomé de los Montes dates from the late 13th century; Santoña bay is in the background.
Entramos en una zona arbolada. Puede que los hayedos sean más bonitos en primera/verano y sobre todo en otoño, pero disfrutamos en la primera parte del recorrido de un gran número de árboles que, desvestidos de sus hojas, dibujaban formas muy bellas
Beech woods are perhaps at their loveliest in spring/summer and especially in autumn, but in the first half of the walk we were struck by many trees that without their leaves presented us with beautiful forms
